The Police K-9 section is assigned to the Operations Division. It presently consists of one canine, Barney (a Belgian Malinois), and his handler, Officer Nick Blake.
Officer Nick Blake has been a resident of Junction City since 2000. He joined the Junction City Police Department in 2004, where he served as a patrol officer for 3 1/2 years until he assumed his current duties as K-9 handler in 2008.
